Impact of Words: Mom vs Dad

Yeah, i know, this is not the continuation of what i promised, but, I feel the need to share this. It is simple, and  short but pregnant with meaning.

Growing up, mama had her maxims. Papa had his maxims. Now i guess they are still their maxims but due to conditioning, they are somehow incorporated in my very own view as i see my world. As i navigate through this maze and plethora of nothingness until Christ shines on you called earthly life. These have have been inherently etched in my memory. It is like sitting back, rewinding every step you ever took. It may have seemed hilarious back then. I mean hilarious is not even the word, but outrageous is more like it. Here goes:

" You don't quit without trying. How do you know you can't actually do it if you have not  tried it? Remember that you are in control of that which does not speak. so, are you letting the inanimate win?" - DAD. He used to say this if you outright decided you can't make it budge, or you can't turn that nut or you can't do just about anything without trying. still says it.

"Did you even pray? You seem too busy. Do you still pray? Did you pray this morning or you just jumped out of bed? Did you even read a single verse? Be careful. Do not forget that God carries you and the devil is looking for every opportunity to catch you unawares. We live in this dark world. Be careful. Don't forget your Jesus." -MOM. She used to and still does remind you of the big picture. What is it that you intend to do? Where are you scampering off to? Town? A friend's place? School? or some very far off place? Remember to pray. You ought to pray.

" When with people, do not invest yourself too much in them. Do not trust without a pinch of salt. Beware of those that are just too nice. What do they really want? Never show your emotions in public. Never hang your dirty laundry or your immediate's for the public. Just because they are smiling with you does not mean they are happy for you. You never know the real intention of the heart, Only God knows so ask him for the spirit of discernment. Do not be the person who is up and about every where, that one who knows everybody's business (heaven forbid, it does not even concern you), that one who has a penny for every thought. Do not be that person who knows not their boundaries. Do not be the person that has no secret and  every Jack and Jill knows everything about you. Do not be that person who keeps a lot of company. Remember, it is biblical. There is always a Judas. There is always a pretender. Bad company corrupts good manners. Just read Proverbs. Do not rely on your own strength or mere mortals. A human being is fallible and is mortal (they fail and they die).
Say little. Pray much and do not overstep another's boundaries. Remember the bible says to do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and love your neighbor as yourself." -MOM and DAD say these things a lot. I used to ask myself why they say such things, and they said, one day, you will understand. Just remember it. Today, I REMEMBER and I UNDERSTAND.
Thank You GOD.

What do you remember growing up? How can you impact your generation and that little child who looks up to you even though you don't know it?

Stay blessed.

P.S. Cherish what is worth the while and surely remember your creator during the days when you are young. You are a custodian. Share the love of Christ...He is coming back soon.

If you don't know my Pain, You won't understand my Praise

Job. David. The Apostle Paul. Jesus, the man himself. Hannah.
These are some of the biblical figures who had so much pain. They had dark days BUT there was something that made them look beyond the pain and and beyond the dark, dark circumstances, and to hold on.There was something or someone who gave them the strength to wipe away their tears and still praise God.
Of recent, i learnt that life does not stop just because you have stopped yours. The clock would still tick. The sun would still rise and set. The clouds would still form and disappear. The wind would still blow. Basically, life would go on, but without you. When you hit that lowest point, when you start to question your integrity, there are three things that would happen.
1. you whine and just continue to whine. focusing on the negative and not on the positive side of the situation you may find yourself.
2. you may stop believing what it was that you've always believed. you may see God as a mean God, and decide not to look up to him anymore.
3. you may continue to praise. At night, you would cry yourself to sleep, but in the morning, you are bright and and all smiles because you know that sorrow may last through the night but joy comes in the morning.

I've gotten to understand that, no one will ever know your pain. No one will understand. Someone will judge you, someone will wish you cleaned up your act and just got over it. Someone will wish you opened up and just share your pain with them, thinking they can handle it, then they feel sorry for getting involved in the first place. Someone will however help you work through it and not over it. The dark night of the soul as someone once said, it that excruciatingly painful defining moment when you are tested in fire. The question still remains, do you keep holding on or do you let go?
Personally, I know that grace carries me through. I know that God promised to be there for me, and with me always. I know that God promised me encouragement and enablement and ability to get through the storm. I know he did not promise me a walk in the park. I mean, it really dawned on me that if this journey on earth was meant to be a walk in the park, then Jesus needn't to have come down on earth  in flesh. But God knows all, sees all and knows what is best.
Always pray for the strength to do each day, what you have to do. Keep on trusting God for a brighter day.I don't know why things happen, and i am not about to claim that i do. I don't know much, but so far, that is what i have learnt.
To be continued........

What makes me Tick

What to say, what to say:
Spatial intrusion
Parasiticalness
Acute entropy
Masqueraded endearment
Prying eyes
Loquaciousness

When you feel like Giving up, Remember why you held on in the first Place

Hi, it has been a while.... was i looking for fresh air? Maybe? I was thinking long and hard. i was wondering, what would i want someone to tell me or something i wish i knew.... ok, i know it, but life gets crazy sometimes and if it wasn't for the part were you are holding on because you remembered why you held on in the first place, i could have gone bonkers like donkey years ago. But there is something about God. Something about the nature of God. I just need to remind myself occasionally about the futility of life. How that nothing matters really because in the end, it is your God-given life, with a God-given assignment and and a God-given everything. I was listening to a sermon by Brent Stuart and i would like to share this with you. It blessed me. i hope you be too. In the end, what matters is honoring God with your daily life. Honoring God with your fave pastimes and thoughts and social life and basically the very essence of your life. My desire is to be transformed into the likeness of Christ. Not to know about God, but to know God. Not to go to a place of worship or fellowship because my friends are going but because i need him. Not to live like a hypocrite because people see me in church every Sunday but to live the life God wants for me. Not to be people pleaser, but to please God because after all, he i am answerable to him. I strongly believe that it is only after you have truly realized that you are inadequate, because you are messed up as a result of the things you have done in the past, and you could only do so much, that you realize that you actually need God  to help you run the race. The bible tells me in Heb 12:1-2 : 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
But getting there, is not easy. It requires your honesty to self. We live in the world where we are so busy that you watch the minutes go by and say to yourself, what have i done with my day? You try to work back and trace your footsteps but you get to the point where you know you couldn't have done it any differently. If you could have, you know that you somehow grew frail. somehow, you got spent and everything spiraled out of control. Lo and behold, panic mode is activated. Everything that once was bright has become faint. But you don't despair because you know you have a father. But you are kinda locked in your room, playing your music so loudly that you can't hear your father knock. you know he can help you, but do you believe that he can, and all you need to do is to open the door? For every level of advancement, there are unique hurdles to jump, but junk is universal and follows the very same pattern (in general but with distinct signatures, that are peculiar to a situation, but junk none the less), and have 4 major physical manifestations. So the rubble rules you need to remember and the your reaction to them will eventually save your life.
Setbacks are those things that pull you back from doing what you ought to do and you handle them the wrong way. when you see trouble, don't delve into the bible, but you do what the bible says. remember that following Jesus is not a comfortable journey. if you are comfy, do check your inventory. they (setbacks) thrive on:
1. fatigue
2. frustration
3. failure
4. fear
When you see the manifestation of these, you know there is junk somewhere and you handle it. You praying about it and reading the word ain't gonna do nothing if you don't take that step of action and say,'' Lord, here i come. Your word says to strip off every weight that so easily besets me, so here i am relinquishing the tv remote. I wanna get close to you, so i am gonna get up and go fellowship with other believers. I am gonna stop hanging out there. i am gonna stop thinking this way, so when i am turning a corner where a trap is set for me, help me turn the  other way.''
 Rubble rules:
1. Rubble is part of life, with everything, there is junk associated.
2. clean it out periodically. what is the rubble in your life? get it out of the way, and go where God want you to go.
3. if you do not deal with it, it will overtake your life. what are you doing with what is in your life?
4. when you don't see the rubble in your life, others do see it.

Four cures:
1. rest your body when you are fatigued, God gives rest to his loved once. he gives power to the worn out and weary. strength to the weak. those who wait on the Lord, find new strength. wait on the Lord literary, shut off everything, shut out the noise. Get into that position where you are actually listening to God.
2. Reorganize your life when you are frustrated. joy is constant. happiness is circumstantial. shuffle your schedule if you have to. wake up earlier if you have to. you need to have a living relationship with God. how are you encouraging others? how are you being encouraged?
3. Refocus when failure comes. do not let what you do not know affect what you know. you can only do what you can do, and have done, but God can and wants to do more than you can ever do. Get to the point where you realize you need God more than anything.
4. Resist the discouragement. it breeds fear. re-establish your beliefs. you can only do what you belief. go on in there with the faith in God. Knowing is one thing but believing is another. You know you can do all, but do you believe that? When you feel like giving up, remember the cross. Jesus finished his mission. You have your mission to complete. What is it that you have to complete today? Go on right ahead and complete it. Do not let go. keep at it. God will help you if you let him. If you wait on him, he will meet you right at your point of need.

I will be back soon. Stay blessed.

Perks Of a Preacher's Kid

I am sad.
I am sad because, in the attempt to 'Visualize" the word of God, The bible series does not do the word of God any Justice.
One of the perks of a Preacher's Kid is that from a very young age, you actually got to involuntarily read bible stories because mama's gonna quiz you later. If you miss the big picture, you went back to the book you missed. Many stories have been twisted in the series. I love David... and because of that, I know he was not anointed as King out in the sheep pastures as depicted. That is just some of the things to pay attention to when watching the Bible series. In an attempt to capture the emotion and materialize the word into motion picture, the paraphrase is beyond what i personally can stand. So, if you gonna watch the Bible series, (and you should), watch it like a hawk. Have your bible next to you (or at least, know your stuff.) Allow nothing and no one to paint for you a picture about God and the Bible stories that contradicts the witness of the holy spirit to your spirit. Choose your meals wisely because not everyone is for Jesus Christ though it appears so outwardly. Just read the letters of the apostle Paul. Stay blessed and Keep your eyes and ears Open. When in conflict of the Mind, Just approach the throne of Grace. What you receive from there, will certainly deconfuse you. (deconfuse is not a real word, but you surely get my point).!!!!

I do not know it all. I do not claim to know it all, but when something is off, you should not be gullible to take it all down without prayer and bible reading on your own part. The king James version is definitely a place to start when contemporary bible versions aren't making you understand. One of the other ways that i find helpful in growing in the word of God is fellowship.

Keep the faith and God Bless you.

All that was left....

My heart goes out to you little angel. I don't know if you understand yet... I don't know if you will ever understand. Maybe time heals all wounds, but my heart bleeds for you. All you had left. All you had left. Your question remains unanswered in my mind. I don't know if you understood what it meant when you spoke about your mommy. All you ever had... All you had left. May God watch over you. My heart bleeds out for you. You have no idea how...

She was like a second mother. one of those people who kept unity in community. She was amazing. Her kindness knows no boundaries. She was really one of her kind.

Rock bottom

The difference is always subtle. It does not matter how you got there, but it is what you are still doing there.
Everyone hits rock bottom once in a while. No matter how strong you think you are or actually are, You will get there one day. It is called LIVING.
It is called being ALIVE.

But, do not get me wrong. When you hit rock bottom, it does not mean that you have to dwell there like Jesus is DEAD. Jesus is ALIVE. He died and rose again. He was tempted but he did not succumb to temptation. Our points of weakness simply define our strengths, if that is what we desire, or we wallow in self pity and go about as if the world owes us an apology and God is missing the whole point.
Newsflash: God does not miss the point. We miss it. We may ask him to intervene and all. We may ask him to break through for us, but we don't prepare for his intervention. It is the same as praying for rain as a farmer, but you are not bothered to prepare the grounds and seeds for that day when it would rain. what happens then? Nothing. You pray to God to meet you at your point of need. You pray to God to rescue you and you actually stretch out your hand so he can take hold of your hand. It is not the fact that you have fallen that makes you a failure, but it is when you refuse to get up. If God be God, I know that he has a plan for you if you yield to him.
With God, nothing is an accident....

You are blessed and you are a blessing.
Do not think of yourself as anything less than what God made you, because you are his image.
